LeRoi Moore 1961-2008
LeRoi Moore (46) of the
Dave Matthews Band passed away on Tuesday, August 19th at the Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center in LA, Ca.
He had just recently returned to his Los Angeles home to continue intensive therapy and rehabilitation from his ATV accident in June but complications set in on Sunday.

According to People.com, the Band played on…
to a sold out crowd in LA which tells me that the boys were able to see LeRoi before he passed since they were in Los Angeles,
which makes me feel better.
“We all had some bad news today,” Matthews told the sell-out crowd at the Staples Center in Los Angeles after the first song. “Our good friend LeRoi Moore passed on and gave his ghost up today and we will miss him forever.”
Fans shouted Moore’s name in tribute as the band resumed playing. Two songs later, Matthews once again made reference to Moore, saying: “It’s easier to leave than be left.”
LeRoi was the humble one of the group, wearing sunglasses on stage to battle his stage fright although in 2004 he was spotted without them for many shows. But, the way he helped to bring the music alive was unmistakably perfect! I adored his solo’s and the impact he made on the music!! It won’t be the same without him. That’s such an understatement!!!

I had the pleasure of seeing them at Hershey, PA and even though the vibration of the sound sent my heart into tachycardia, it was the best night of my life! I’ve lost many people in my lifetime, being the last surviving member of the family I was born into, but I seem to mourn those who made me happy a little more than those who didn’t, family or not, duh, and the music of the Dave Matthews Band definitely makes me happy!! LeRoi Moore left a huge footprint on this earth that will never be duplicated or surpassed!! Thank God his live shows were recorded and I’ve got most of them!!
My heart goes out to LeRoi’s family and friends, Dave, Stefan, Boyd and Carter.

A Watering Tip for Venus Flytrap Keepers
As you may know if you’re a regular reader of my inner thoughts, <nosey…..
I’m just kidding!> I started a Venus Flytrap garden a month ago and believe it or not, they’re still alive!!!
A lot of people get tripped up on the water issue with these little buggers <ha ha buggers> getting sick of that yet? because they prefer rain water but you have to make sure that whatever you’re collecting the water in is pure and on and on.
Well, you’re supposed to keep the temperature of the plants around 80-85 like they’d be in the South Carolina swamps, right? I keep a small thermometer in the tank about an inch below the moss so that I can tell how close to put the light over it and I realized that when I watered it, the temperature was dropping and my plants didn’t look too good! <bummer>
It dawned on me that the water was cooler than the tank so I started heating it up by placing a small amount in a clean
very clean Dixie cup and placing that into a larger cup that has very warm water in it. I let it sit for a few minutes and then water the Flytraps with the warmed up rain water and they’re not getting shocked!!
Pretty cool, huh?

MAN!! The news is crazy these days! Russia is going NUTZ and I heard this morning that they’re ready to declare nuclear war on Poland after conquering Georgia!

I just cannot get past the whole infidelity thing and thankfully neither can my husband but we’re perfectly matched and we’re not in the public eye!! JEEZ!! What a bunch of whores! There are circumstances where I can understand forgiveness but very, very few circumstances!
And then we have the election process in the news which is threatening to be more than exciting than even I can imagine, what with the Democratic party stumbling over themselves and all!
It’s all kind of crazy and with 80-something days to go until the election, I’m almost afraid to look!
So, with all of this insanity, I figured I’d blog about a few random light-hearted news type of things off the top of my head…so, here we go!
First and foremost…
Robert Lancaster of StopSylviaBrowne is improving every day THANK GOODNESS but it will be a slow process, but he’s doing alright! He and his wife Susan and everyone involved are in my thoughts and prayers all day long, every day!
The JREF Forum has a consolidated thread of just Susan’s updates but the original thread is still growing! He’s got A LOT of friends!!! I really hope that people will send their cards and let them know just how many he really does have and how much they mean to us all!!

Ellen Degeneres (50) and Portia De Rossi (35) will marry on Saturday, August 16th!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Ellen is one of my favorite people! I’m not very familiar with Portia <not an Ally McBeal fan> but she’s gorgeous, isn’t she?! I wish them the best! The more happy people, the better! I don’t care what a person’s sexual preference is as long as they’re good people and they don’t have their sights on me as I am very much taken!
The Donald, as in Trump, has shown his humane side (or has he?) and is a shining example for the other rich folk out there. Donald offered to buy Ed McMahon’s house and lease it back to him in order to spare the former Johnny Carson sidekick from homelessness. Now if only Ed could get a grip on his wife’s spending! Come on, Ed! The sex can’t be that good!! Let Ed be an example to all of these stars and starlets who are famous yet have no talent.
This is your future! Get a real job!!
And although The Donald looks like the hero, reports say that the house sold at half price and that this sort of dealing is considered vulture-like but there’s good and bad to everything, huh?
Jackson Browne is in the news. 
According to the Associated Press
LOS ANGELES - Jackson Browne doesn’t want John McCain running on anything fueled by his lyrics.
The singer-songwriter sued McCain and the Ohio and national Republican committees in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles on Thursday, accusing them of using his song “Running on Empty” without his permission.
The lawsuit claims the song’s use was an infringement of his copyright and will lead people to conclude he endorses McCain. The suit says Browne is a lifelong liberal who is as well-known for his music as for being “an advocate for social and environmental justice.”
Really! I loved the guy back in the 70’s but after Daryl Hannah broke up with him and I floated into the 80’s…
I had no idea!! I quit listening to his CD’s because they bumbed me out!! You’d think Jackson would be glad somebody’s keeping his name alive! Sorry buddy!
And last but not least, Jennifer Anniston is back on the market!! She’s one of John’s {my hubby} fav’s! Apparently, she and John Mayer broke up although I didn’t think it was a long-term thing anyway.

Sudden Change Under Eye Serum
So, I’ve been dealing with small bags and light dark circles under my eyes since my heart attack.
Apparently my heart cannot oxygenate the blood like it normally would if all of it were working…go figure. 
It never really bothered me until the last year or so when some guy who worked at the grocery store that I frequented kept telling me how tired I looked!!

This weekend I found “Sudden Change 3 Minute Under Eye Firming Serum” at the Columbus Farmers Market at a Make-up Surplus store. A .23 fl oz bottle costs $12 but I found it for I think $2, it might have been $3. I don’t know…I’m still trying to get over how they fit all of those words on a bottle that is so small!!!
I decided to buy it since I’ve been curious about it for a long time. I quit spending that kind of money on things that make claims that they can do miracles but rarely do those miracles happen! I’ve got a linen closet full of ‘em!
So, I got home and tried it. If I had read the information about the product, it would have been more successful from the beginning but because the store is all of the stuff that comes off of the Wal-Mart, CVS type store shelves that get packed up when new stuff arrives, it didn’t have it’s original packaging.
Apparently, you’re not supposed to move your face for 3 minutes or until it is dry but I didn’t know that so it made more wrinkles but it did shrink the swelling!! Now I know that you can mix it with your foundation and it will look smoother, I love it! I’ve had a swollen pocket under my right eye for a long time now and it’s gone!! Even the next day! The product information does say not to use moisturizer before or after use but there is no way that I’m not using moisturizer so we’re going to have to compromise!!
So, my final analysis is a good one. I think that if you play around with it and see what works best for you and as long as you don’t expect an absolute miracle, I think that you’ll be pleasantly surprised with this product. I can also understand a .23 fl. oz. bottle going for $12 because you only use 2-3 drops per eye once or twice a day. But, being the frugal beagle that I am, I will always suggest shopping around.

This is great for those really bad days when the bags are more like luggage but after using this stuff for a few days, I don’t think that I would use it everyday. It is meant to shrink as it dries and then when you smile it makes a lot of wrinkles. I smile way too much for this stuff as an every day cosmetic.

An Update On Our Friend, Robert Lancaster
Phew!!! It looks like Robert is going to be okay according to Susan’s post in the JREF Forum last night!!
Here is part of what Susan wrote:
The doctor says Robert will be in the hospital for weeks. The doctor expects him to wake up next week - the week after at the latest. He’ll likely be in rehab weeks to months. BUT THEN HE WILL COME HOME!!!!!!
The location of the damage is not expected to affect what we know of as “Robert.” His sense of humor, the way he thinks, communicates, reasons, will be the same as it always has been. This got me to thinking . . . so, what if he remains on disability for the rest of his life? What if he can never return to computer programming? What will he do?
HEY SYLVIA, JOHN, JAMES, BENNY, PETER, KEVIN, ETC - ARE YOU LISTENING? IF ROBERT LANCASTER DOES NOT RETURN TO A 40-HR WORK WEEK, IT WILL MEAN HE’LL HAVE MORE TIME TO COME AFTER YOU! Maybe you should be praying alongside all of those praying for a full recovery!

Many of us put our life literally in the hands of a stranger, our doctors! We trust them prior to establishing a relationship with them solely on the abbreviations that appear after their name. (MD, PhD, etc.)
Well, did you can check out who your doctor is, how long they have been practicing, where they’ve gone to school or did their internship and even if they’ve ever made drastic mistakes and such…For FREE!!?? <me neither until yesterday>

An Update On Robert Lancaster’s Condition
Hello My Friends,
Susan Lancaster has been kind enough to keep us all up to date on his condition. All of us who are spread out worldwide who can think of nothing else but Robert!!
For those who aren’t checking the JREF Forum every hour like I am, as of this morning he is a little bit responsive <eh> and he felt around for Susan’s hand and squeezed it, which is an awesome sign!! He’s been spending time with his family and I know he feels the love. I don’t believe he’s gained consciousness yet but that may be medically induced to give the swelling time to go down. I’m not sure. I’m not a doctor, I’m a heart disease survivor who’s stroke-prone…
I just know that in his ’sleepiness’ he can feel the thoughts and prayers and worry from all of us who’ve never laid eyes on him and can still see what a wonderful soul he is!! He’s just that kind of guy and everyone knows it…even those who disagree with him. <you can’t deny it>
Because Susan said that she was only giving us the ‘positive’ news, I am asking the we pump up the prayer! I don’t care if he ever fights another cause in his lifetime or anything like that. All I want is for him to live a quality life, you know? Everything takes care of itself especially when the energy is already in motion, and I believe that Robert’s gonna be alright.

Banding Together For a Friend
Really sad news crossed the Internet that on Monday August 4th, Robert Lancaster had a stroke. He’s in serious shape but in good hands and is doing as well. I ask everyone send him your thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time. Please don’t forget to include his family and his kids and his lovely wife Susan.
Don’t forget to pray that the doctors and nurses and lab techs that are handling his case are at the top of their games.
I know from experience that “status-quo” with heart attack and strokes does not exist. Otherwise, I’d be dead or too exhausted to even type! And I know from past experience that the power of thoughts and prayers do SO much!! More than imaginable and more than we may ever know!
NO, God doesn’t listen up just because more people are praying for someone and God doesn’t ignore those who nobody knows. It’s the vibe that we send. The power of positive thinking is intense!!
NO, Sylvia Browne did not foresee this nor did she cause this and
NO, it does not mean that the pressure on her will let up! We who adore and respect Robert, and there are many of us, would never let that happen!!
EVER!!
So, please keep them in your thoughts and prayers! It is very much appreciated!! Remember that whether we agree with another’s truth, we still share a spark. Think about it…
And, I doubt that Robert and Susan would mind since the address is on StopSylviaBrowne.com so if you want to send a card, that would be nice, too! Susan says on the JFEF Forum that he cannot receive flowers so that’s not an option.
